Ministry of Finance asks Health to stop disbursement of KD 101.7 mln

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Health Marzouq Al-Rasheedi has announced that all officials are now obliged to evaluate the performance of the staff annually by writing down the positive and negative comments in the evaluation report of each employee — whether citizen or expatriate — for them to know the positive aspects of their performance and avoid the negatives, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Rasheedi explained this step was taken after the ministry noticed the absence of comments in most of the performance evaluation reports.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has asked its health counterpart to stop the disbursement of KD 101.7 million, which was allocated for the settlement of outstanding bills issued by companies importing medicines and medical equipment in order to cover the deficit in previous fiscal years, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily obtained a copy of the letter of Assistant Undersecretary for General Budget Affairs at the Ministry of Finance Saleh Al-Sarawi to Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Reddah to suspend approval of the disbursement of the abovementioned amount from the 2018/2019 budget as agreed in the meeting held recently in Ministry of Finance.
