WASHINGTON, Nov 23, (Agencies): Miss Universe El Salvador has issued an apology for an error in the Miss Universe 2023 top 5 art card, which mistakenly featured the photo of Miss Universe Philippines, Michelle Dee.

Acknowledging the mistake, pageant organizers expressed regret on Facebook, stating, “Our mistake! In the rush to get our posts up during Saturday’s live broadcast, we accidentally mixed up the names of two finalists. This was a simple error of moving too fast – we heard the same results live at the same time that you all did, no special access over here! We’re sorry to both finalists.”

The admission confirmed the incorrect art card uploaded by organizers on social media, triggering a backlash from pageant enthusiasts in the Philippines.

Upon recognizing the error, the organizers promptly rectified it by sharing the accurate version. In the revised art card, the photo of Michelle was replaced with that of Miss Universe Thailand, Antonia Porsild, who secured the second position in the competition.

Addressing the mishap, Michelle commented, “There should be no room for error, but the reality is we live in an imperfect world. My request is not just to be respectful to the delegates but to the supporters who are so passionate about this platform. But again, everything happens for a reason, and it’s just a matter of seeing it as a lesson or a blessing. So always act with love, kindness, and respect.”
