KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) announced the completion of an automated linking system connecting all cooperative societies across Kuwait, a step aimed at tightening financial and administrative control and enhancing transparency within the sector.
Dr. Sayed Issa, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Cooperative Affairs, said the automated system now covers all 76 cooperative societies, including warehouses and internal operations centers. The initiative, he explained, strengthens the Ministry’s ability to monitor and oversee cooperative activities with greater accuracy and efficiency.
“The current stage focuses on auditing the financial and administrative data submitted to the Ministry by the financial and administrative controllers appointed in each cooperative society,” Dr. Issa stated. “This ensures the accuracy and integrity of the information before approval and allows for the immediate detection and correction of any discrepancies, preventing the accumulation of violations that could affect the stability of cooperative operations.”
He emphasized that the Ministry is committed to expanding the use of electronic automation across cooperative management systems and to implementing oversight mechanisms built on clear and firm foundations rooted in relevant laws and regulations. Such measures, he noted, are expected to improve the speed and quality of services delivered to citizens.
Dr. Issa further highlighted that the new monitoring mechanism provides direct interaction points between the Ministry, cooperative societies, and partner companies, ensuring procedural transparency and compliance.
“The ultimate goal,” he affirmed, “is to safeguard public funds and strengthen the confidence of shareholders and consumers in the performance and governance of cooperative societies.”
