Ministry of Services to stop receiving parcels and packages from countries affected by coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25: State Minister for Services and National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees has emergency plan of implementing to stop receiving parcels and postal packages coming in from coronavirus endemic countries as a measures to avoid spread of virus reports Al Rai.

He said in a statement the ministry’s commitment to implement the health emergency plan based on the directives of the Council of Ministers to confront coronavirus (Covid 19), indicating that the Maritime Transport Department has coordinated with the Kuwaiti Ports Corporation and relevant government agencies to prohibit the reception of ships coming in from Iran, Iraq and countries which infection has spread.

He pointed out that the General Administration of Civil Aviation asked all international airlines to provide them with a health status for their passengers. In coordination with the ministries of health and MOI and airlines, air ports in the country were provided with special equipment to protect their workers.

Al-Harees stated that the Civil Aviation Administration asked Kuwait Airways and Al-Jazeera Airlines to allocate rapid response teams for medical emergencies and to implement sterilization plans for airplanes in the event that any infected case was found or the symptoms of infection appeared.

He explained that among the measures taken was coordination with international airlines to inform the General Administration of Civil Aviation in the country about any passenger coming to Kuwait International Airport (transit) from the countries in which the virus was discovered and examined upon arrival before mixing with the rest of the passengers.

Al-Harees praised the efforts of all workers, men and women, from Kuwait and expats from all ministries who are working with their fullest extent.
