Ministry of Education prepares 'distance learning' for emergencies

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: As the new school year commences for educational and administrative bodies, the Ministry of Education is preparing to implement the “distance education” system across schools to ensure its effective use during emergency situations.

Mansour Al-Dhafiri, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for General Education, has instructed educational region directors and the Director of Religious Education to ensure that school principals update learner data in the student record system before creating classes. This includes accurate class lists, data distribution, and academic schedules for teachers. Al-Dhafiri emphasized the need for proper data entry, including class assignments and teacher schedules, to facilitate smooth operations.

Al-Dhafiri also urged regions to enter new teacher assignments through the student record system and to ensure that educational stage supervisors complete all internal transfer procedures. This includes handling cases such as external transfers, confirmations, secondments, and returns from vacation.

All these updates must be completed before the students’ first school day, allowing the Information Systems Department to refresh data on the Microsoft Teams program and activate distance learning if necessary.
