Militia claims a lie

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21, (Agencies): Government sources have denied the allegations that the Iraqi militia, which call themselves the ‘Formation of the Inheritors – the Islamic Resistance in Iraq”, targeted the Ali Al- Salem air base in the west of the country with an aircraft squadron, Friday, Aug 12, reports Al- Qabas daily. Senior government sources denied the allegations of the Iraqi militias, saying this is what the militias claim, which is completely untrue, stressing that the country’s air defense system is strong and highly efficient and capable of deterring any aggression.

The sources added, there were no penetrations into the country’s airspace, noting that all precautions and preparedness is in place to protect the country should any untoward incident happen.

The sources stated that these allegations by some suspicious Iraqi militias are not new, are such claims are repeated time and again with the aim of spreading confusion and lies, and working to disturb the relations between Kuwait and Iraq. The sources stressed that the Ministry of Defense with all its sectors and military forces are able to protect the country by land, sea and air.
