NEW YORK, Jan 20, (Agencies): A midwife in New York is facing fines for fabricating the vaccination records of over 1,000 school children. Jeanette Breen, a licensed midwife with a clinic in Nassau County, distributed thousands of oral pellets, falsely claiming they were a valid alternative to vaccines. The New York State Department of Health's Bureau of Investigations uncovered Breen's actions, which began in the 2019-2020 school year.

Breen's deceptive "scheme" involved administering a series of unapproved "homeopathic pellets" as an alternative to vaccines, not authorized by the FDA, CDC, or the Health Department for immunization against any disease. The midwife falsified records for vaccinations such as tetanus, hepatitis B, measles, and polio.

As a consequence of violating the state's Immunization Registry Law, Breen received a hefty $300,000 fine from the Health Department. State Education Commissioner Betty A. Rosa expressed a commitment to maintaining the highest health standards in educational institutions. Rosa condemned Breen's intentional falsification of immunization records, emphasizing the endangerment of school communities' health and safety, as well as the erosion of public trust. The collaborative efforts of governmental partners were acknowledged for bringing this wrongdoer to justice.
