ISTANBUL, Aug 31: Meysan Elite Squash Team delivered a dominant performance at the Turkey Junior Championship in Istanbul, capturing four gold medals in a remarkable display of talent and determination.

Despite fielding a smaller squad of just six players from the UAE, the team outclassed their opponents and showcased their rising stars on the international stage.

In the Under-11 category, Ali Fathi triumphed over the older Turkish contender, Mehmet Yaman Oter, to secure the title.

The Under-13 final saw Ammar Adel make a dream debut in European Squash Federation competitions, claiming the gold after a thrilling battle with Russia’s Arseniy Alekseev.

Meanwhile, Adv Guli used his international experience to dominate the Under-15 category and bring home gold.

The standout moment of the tournament came from Rohan Roy, just 16 years old, who competed in the Under-19 category and clinched gold by defeating Jordan’s Mohammed Al-Bataineh.

In the Under-17 division, Nasser Al-Jiaan (14 years old) impressed by finishing sixth against a field of much older and more experienced players — a result that earned admiration and respect.

Also in the Under-15 category, Zain Fathi showed grit despite an early setback against top-seeded Russian Nikita Smirnov, eventually finishing 17th overall.

Meysan Elite’s performance in Turkey underscored the depth of its junior program and highlighted the bright future of squash in the region.
