KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has referred six customer service employees to the Public Prosecution for investigation for manipulating the energy bills, and replacing electricity and water meters without the required documents and payment, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed the concerned officials in the sector reviewed the transactions carried out by these employees; indicating the amount in one of the bills was reduced from KD 40,000 to KD 3,000. Sources said the ministry suspended three of the six employees until the completion of investigations. Sources explained “the process of replacing meters without submitting documents proving the payment of fees means the one who carried out this procedure decreased the amount in the energy bills accumulated under the meter number that was replaced illegally.”
