Media personality fined for using fake PhD degree to secure job

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: The Court of Cassation fined a media personality KD3,000 for using a fictitious PhD to bear the appellation of “Dr”. The court thereby nullified the clean bill of health given the man over the alleged falsification of master’s and PhD degrees from the International Center for Arbitration in Cairo in previous verdicts.
He got the certificates evaluated in Kuwait and used it to secure a job as a media consultant during which he received KD20,000 worth of salaries on the job in some ministries. It is worthy of note the Ministry of Higher Education referred him to prosecution over the allegation of forgery and he insisted during investigation that he obtained the ministry’s approval to study in the university.
