Fake Cop Caught After Robbing 12 Expats for Drug Money

KUWAIT CITY, May 25: In a successful operation, criminal investigation officers apprehended an individual impersonating a security officer and robbing expatriates in the Fahaheel, Abu Halifa, and Mahboula areas. The arrest came following a strategic ambush set up for the suspect in the Abu Halifa area.

A security source revealed that the surge in robbery cases targeting expatriates, perpetrated by an individual posing as a security personnel, prompted the authorities to take action. The suspect believed to be in his thirties and unemployed, was identified after a thorough search and investigation by criminal investigation officers. Subsequently, an ambush was laid out in the Abu Halifa area, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect along with some stolen items.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing more than 12 robberies under the guise of a security officer, forcefully stealing mobile phones and sums of money from his victims. He admitted to using the stolen money for drug consumption. The accused, along with the confiscated items, was handed over to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
