Lesser funds said raised this Ramadan

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: According to sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the proceeds of the 20th edition of the fund-raising project implemented during the month of Ramadan did not exceed KD 50 million, compared to more than KD 53 million collected during Ramadan last year, reports Aljarida daily. The sources explained that the digital screen supervised by the ministry’s Department of Charitable Societies and Foundations currently shows that the total donations amounted to about KD 42 million.

However, some associations are still working on entering their proceeds through the automated system. The ministry’s employees reviewed the reports received from the associations and audited the data and their conformity with the bank statement. Every party that participated in the project will provide the ministry with a report on the fi- nal outcome of the project, its revenues and expenses, and will specify the type of implemented projects, whether inside or outside Kuwait.
