KUWAIT CITY, May 23: Kuwait Club is on track to clinch the Zain Premier League title if it secures a win over Al-Qadisiya at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium. This match is part of the ninth round of the Championship League. Simultaneously, Al-Fahaheel will host Al-Arabi, and Al-Salmiya will face Al-Nasr.

Al-Abyad, leading the standings with 63 points, needs a victory today to secure the league championship for the nineteenth time in its history, regardless of the outcome of its final match against Al-Arabi, who is second with 58 points. If Kuwait Club draws or loses and Al-Arabi wins, the title decision will be postponed until their decisive match next Monday.

Kuwait Club aims to continue its dominance over Al-Qadisiya, particularly this season, having already defeated it three times—once in the Super Cup (1-0) and twice in the league (1-0 and 2-0), with one match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Kuwait Club’s Tunisian coach, Nabil Maaloul, understands that despite his team’s strong record against Al-Qadisiya, it faces an opponent buoyed by its recent Amir’s Cup win against Al-Salmiya. Maaloul aims to secure a victory and complete its championship journey without risking a decisive match against Al-Arabi next Monday.

On the other hand, Al-Qadisiya coach Muhammad Al-Mashaan hopes to capitalize on his team’s high morale and break its losing streak against Kuwait Club. Al-Qadisiya has been out of the title race since the sixth round, sitting in third place with 51 points.

In the second match, Al-Arabi will be focusing on its game against Al-Fahaheel while keeping an eye on the Al-Qadisiya vs Kuwait Club match, hoping its traditional rival can halt the leader. Al-Arabi is expected to achieve another victory over Al-Fahaheel (31 points), having beaten them three times this season (twice 2-1 and once 2-0).

In the third match, Al-Salmiya (32 points) aims to hold onto fourth place, while Al-Nasr, sixth in the standings with 25 points, seeks a final victory in the competition after a series of defeats in recent rounds.
