Laundry shops shut

KUWAIT CITY, April 7: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Federation of Laundry Shop Owners Jamal Al-Ansari revealed that the number of laundry shops in the country reached 3,000; indicating 50 of these shops shut down permanently while 400 closed temporarily due to their inability to pay salaries and rent, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Ansari said the federation sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Corona Emergency Committee Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah requesting permission for laundry shops with delivery service to operate during the partial curfew period and issue exit permits to their employees. e affirmed these laundry shops vowed to strictly comply with the health regulations including social distancing, pointing out this will help the shops fulfill their financial obligations especially since they have already incurred huge losses due to the corona pandemic.
