KUWAIT CITY, Sep 6: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has urged workers/employees to distinguish between a labour complaint and a report of a labour-law violation, stressing that the two services serve different purposes.
The Authority explained that the Labour Complaint Service is intended for workers seeking to claim their rights or resolve disputes arising from their employment relationship with an employer.
Such complaints may involve issues including unpaid wages, employment contracts, termination of employment, leave and other labour-related disputes requiring legal action to protect the worker’s rights.
PAM said labour complaints should be submitted through the Labour Relations Unit responsible for the company’s file, or electronically through the Authority’s Ashal Manpower Service.
In contrast, the Report Me Service allows individuals to report violations they observe that are related to labour legislation and decisions falling under PAM’s supervisory responsibilities.
The Authority said such reports contribute to its efforts to monitor compliance with labour regulations and support the protection and organization of Kuwait’s labour market.
PAM emphasized that violation reports are handled with complete confidentiality, with the data of the person submitting the report protected and not disclosed.
The Authority encouraged workers and members of the public to use the appropriate service depending on the nature of their case and to submit reports through the Ashal Manpower application when reporting observed violations.
For inquiries or to follow up on submitted requests, PAM said users can access its official website or use its official WhatsApp service channels.
PAM’s message is clear: a personal employment dispute should be filed as a labour complaint, while an observed violation of labour regulations should be submitted as a violation report.
