Kuwait’s top squash players are ready for the 17th National Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: The 17th edition of the National Individual Squash Championship for men and women, across all age categories, will begin next Saturday. The tournament draw was held recently at the federation’s headquarters in South Surra, attended by Federation President Waleed Al-Sumai’i, Secretary General and Head of the Competitions Committee Hamed Al-Omran, committee member Abdulhadi Al-Aryan, and representatives from 12 of the 14 participating clubs.

Al-Omran welcomed the attendees, wishing players and clubs a successful start to the new season and strong results. He also greeted Mishaal Anad, the representative of Al-Fahaheel Club, congratulating him on the club’s official entry into squash. On this occasion, Anad presented a commemorative shield to Federation President Al-Sumai’i on behalf of Al-Fahaheel President Hamad Al-Dabbous, extending his greetings to the federation and the squash community.

The championship will open with competitions in the Under-11, Under-15, and Under-19 categories, as well as the women’s open category, running for five days. It will then continue with the Under-13, Under-17, and men’s open categories, concluding on the 24th of this month.

Meanwhile, the Referees’ Training and Promotion Course will start on Sunday at the Abdullah Al-Salem Leadership Preparation Center in Khaldiya. The course, aimed at referees in the first, second, and third divisions, will be led by Abdulrahman Al-Owaish, Abdulhadi Al-Aryan, and Tareq Al-Owaish, and will run for 10 days.
