DOHA, Sept 3: Kuwait’s national football team continues its daily training sessions at Aspire Academy in Doha, where it is holding a camp that runs until September 9. As part of the preparations, the Blue will play a friendly against Syria on September 8.
The squad will also head to Dubai in early October for another training camp, ahead of the decisive Arab Cup playoff against Mauritania in November. The playoff will be staged in Doha at the start of December.
Meanwhile, Syria and the UAE face off in a friendly today in Dubai, a match expected to be closely watched by Kuwait’s technical staff led by new head coach Helio Souza.
Kuwait will meet Syria next Monday at Al-Ahli Qatar’s Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. The match will mark Souza’s first test since signing a two-year deal with the Kuwait Football Association. It will serve as an important opportunity to evaluate player performance, test readiness, and determine the most effective tactical setup.
During the Doha camp, Souza has focused on both physical and tactical development. Players have been put through two daily sessions — morning strength and endurance training at the gym, followed by evening practices at Aspire that emphasize fitness, technical drills, tactical organization, and improving on-field chemistry.
