Supreme Committee for Gulf Cup meeting chaired by Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila.

KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Acting Director General of the General Sports Authority, Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, confirmed significant progress in addressing the observations of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation inspection committee, achieving a 90% completion rate. The remaining tasks will be tackled in the upcoming period.

This update followed the conclusion of the Supreme Committee for hosting Gulf 26's meeting at the authority’s headquarters, chaired by Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Child Affairs, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. Government bodies, institutions, and the Kuwait Football Association were also present.

During the meeting, the Supreme Committee members were assigned their responsibilities and agreed to adhere to the specified timetable. The Executive Office of the Supreme Committee was formed, led by Dr. Al-Huwaila as Chair, and Bashar Abdullah as Vice Chair. Turki Al-Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for Television Affairs, and Hayef Al-Daihani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Football Association, were appointed as members.

Abdullah highlighted the committee's unanimous recognition of Kuwait’s hosting of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup in late December as not only a significant sporting event but also a gathering of Gulf youth. The tournament will garner attention from GCC leaders, Gulf Football Federation heads, national officials, and regional stakeholders, emphasizing its importance.

Preparations are underway to ensure all construction and organizational tasks are completed before the September inspection committee visit, a final check before the tournament commences. Kuwait is poised to host Gulf 26 with readiness in both structural and organizational aspects, according to Acting Director General Bashar Abdullah.
