Kuwait’s oil minister inspects work at KPC’s firms

Al-Fares says visits aim to review plans and strategies in oil & gas industry

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27, (KUNA): Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Mohammad Al-Fares inspected work at a number of oil companies affiliated to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).

Al-Fares said in a press statement that the visits to the Kuwait Oil Company, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Petrochemical Industry Company aimed to review and discuss their plans and strategies in oil and gas industry, and their role in achieving the KPC’s strategic directions and added value to national resources.

Al-Fares, also Chairman of KPC, said that he was accompanied by CEO of KPC Hashem Hashem and some senior officials at the oil institutions during the visits to be briefed on the latest developments relating to the current and future projects of the companies and their investment inside and outside Kuwait.

He commended the efforts and distinguished performance by workers of the oil sector during the coronavirus pandemic. He noted that they were keen to carry out their work either from work sites or online work that had a great impact on the continuation of the action of this vital sector and was not affected by the exceptional circumstances during the past period. He expressed his satisfaction with the level of the companies’ performance and the efforts of their employees, pointing to the government’s keenness to support national cadres.

The minister stressed the importance of cooperation and integration amongst the oil companies, and collaboration with regulatory bodies. He expressed confidence that these firms would be able to work efficiently with different conditions so as to serve Kuwait and back the national economy. He particularly evaluated the support provided by the companies to various state agencies during the coronavirus crisis, and their responsibilities in serving the Kuwaiti society. The minister affirmed that all oil sector’s staff are keen on prioritizing the country’s supreme interest, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
