Kuwait’s November crude oil exports to Japan down 20.1%

TOKYO, Dec 28, (KUNA): Kuwait’s crude oil exports to Japan in November declined 20.1 percent from a year earlier to 6.26 million barrels, or 209,000 barrels per day (bpd), for the eighth consecutive monthly drop, government data showed Monday.

As Japan’s fourth-biggest oil provider, Kuwait supplied 9.1 percent of its total crude imports, the Japanese Natural Resources and Energy Agency said in a preliminary report. Japan’s overall imports of crude oil in November fell 21.7 percent year-on-year to 2.31 million bpd, down for the 11th straight month. Shipments from the Middle East accounted for 93.0 percent of the total, up 3.9 percentage points from the year before. Saudi Arabia remained Japan’s No.1 oil supplier, although imports from the kingdom slid 10.7 percent from a year earlier to 1.00 million bpd, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 634,000 bpd, down 29.9 percent.
