Grand Mosque fully prepared to greet 50,000 ‘Qiyam’ worshipers

KUWAIT CITY, March 30: As the breeze graces the last ten days of Ramadan, and the nights of deliverance from hellfire unfold, these nights are filled with forgiveness, mercy, and abundant blessings. Among them is the “Lailat-ul-Qadr” (Night of Destiny), which is better than a thousand months of worship, marked by fervent prayers, prostrations, and earnest pleas for forgiveness throughout the night. Two nights ago, worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque to perform prayers on the twentieth night of Ramadan, following meticulous preparations by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Their diligent efforts were aimed to create a devout atmosphere for the multitude of visitors attending these blessed nights at the Grand Mosque. In this regard, the Director of the Grand Mosque Administration Ali Shaddad Al-Mutairi said, “We have taken maximum readiness to receive 50,000 worshipers”. He said, “On this auspicious night, as the Grand Mosque welcomed 2,300 worshipers, everyone aspires to earn blessings and leave their mark during these sacred days”.

Al-Mutairi explained in a press statement issued after the end of the prayers of the first night of the ten blessed nights that the administration of the Grand Mosque is fully prepared in coordination with relevant government agencies such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, private supporting bodies, and volunteers of both genders and of different ages who organize the entry and exit of worshipers and provide hospitality services to worshipers during the last ten nights of Ramadan. Tents were set up next to the mosque to receive worshipers in anticipation of rain and weather fluctuations. A special tent was also set up for mothers, another for children to take advantage of this time, and one for families to enjoy the devout atmosphere and to reassure their children that they are in the care of safe hands.
