KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29:  West Asian Diving Federation's Board of Directors established its seven permanent committees, with Kuwait taking the presidency of three: the International Relations Committee, the Legal Committee, and the Gender Equality Committee, for the next four years.

The committee outcomes resulted in the appointment of Kuwaiti representatives to lead them. Salam Al-Rujaib will head the International Relations Committee, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jabr will take charge of the Legal Committee, and Hind Al-Nahedh will guide the Gender Equality Committee.

Talal Al-Sarhan, the head of the West Asian Diving Federation, conveyed to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that after the completion of the permanent committee formation, the federation will develop a timetable for upcoming initiatives. Al-Sarhan emphasized that the primary aim in the next phase is to introduce diving as a sport in the 20th Asian Games, slated for Japan. He further stated that the federation intends to collaborate closely with the Olympic Council of Asia concerning the jointly organized West Asian Championship.

Furthermore, Al-Sarhan noted that the Federation's Board of Directors is currently reviewing numerous proposals submitted by the committees. Their objective is to assess these proposals and make suitable decisions to enhance sports both regionally and internationally. Additionally, they are considering the inclusion of new members into the Federation.

Salam Al-Rujaib, the head of the International Relations Committee of the Federation, affirmed in a similar statement to KUNA that he and his committee members are committed to forging connections between the Federation and regional, continental, and international sports bodies and organizations to foster the development of the sport. Al-Rujaib stressed that promoting diving necessitates collective efforts from all federations to encourage participation, ultimately nurturing a generation of athletes capable of achieving excellence in the sport.

He also noted that the committee's primary goal is to achieve the federation's main objective, which is to introduce diving in the upcoming Asian Games. They plan to pursue this goal through discussions and meetings facilitated by the committee with the Olympic Council of Asia and other Asian federations.

The composition of the seven permanent committees is as follows: Kuwait assumes leadership of the International Relations, Legal, and Gender Equality committees, Lebanon oversees the Environment and Medical committees, while Palestine chairs the Athletes and Art committees.
