Kuwaiti citizen Khaled Al-Abduljader, who joined the Global Steadfastness Flotilla in Gaza, arrives in Jordan.
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Kuwait Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya announced on Tuesday the arrival of the third Kuwaiti citizen released from the Al-Sumud flotilla to Jordan, as preparations continue for the return of all three nationals to Kuwait. Al-Yahya said, a statement to KUNA, that the ministry is closely following the citizens’ return after completing the necessary logistical procedures, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its nationals and monitoring their situation from the moment of detention until their return home.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to Bahrain, Jordan, and Turkiye for the efforts in facilitating the release and safe return of the Kuwaiti citizens, praising the cooperation and support provided by the authorities in those countries. A Kuwaiti citizen and 130 nationals from various countries who took part in the foiled maritime mission to relieve Gaza, the Sumud flotilla, have arrived in Jordan via King Hussein bridge, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry declared earlier Tuesday.
The ministry spokesperson Fuad Al-Majali said in a press statement that the released activists included a Jordanian female and citizens from Kuwait, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Oman, Libya, Pakistan, Turkiye, Argentina, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Uruguay. He added that the ministry, in collaboration with other authorities, facilitated their transport to Jordan and gave them some assistance.
Al-Majali also indicated that his department coordinated with the embassies of the freed activists’ countries to facilitate their return home. Kuwait had declared on October four that two citizens who were engaged in the humanitarian sea mission were freed.(KUNA)
