Kuwait's Health Ministry extends travel clinic hours to meet rising summer demand
Kuwait’s Ministry of Health enhances preventive care with longer travel clinic hours.

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced an extension of working hours for several travel clinics across Kuwait, coinciding with the start of the summer vacation season and increased demand for preventive health services.

Implemented by the Ministry’s Public Health Sector, this initiative reflects a proactive policy to ensure the provision of specialized preventive care, facilitating easier access for citizens to travel safely and with full health preparedness, said Dr. Al-Sanad.

The travel clinics, operating under the Public Health Sector, serve as specialized medical centers providing pre-travel advice and health services. These include raising awareness about diseases common in various travel destinations, recommending necessary vaccinations, conducting preventive checkups, and offering guidance to travelers.

Dr. Al-Sanad highlighted that the clinics are distributed across seven key locations covering all governorates, with flexible working hours that include morning and evening shifts at some centers. Services are available through both direct attendance and prior electronic booking, depending on the clinic.

The Public Health Department clinics, which do not require prior booking, operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In the Capital Governorate, the Abdulrahman Al-Abdul-Mughni Center operates morning shifts and additional evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In Farwaniya Governorate, the Al-Raqqa Health Center clinic operates on Sundays and Thursdays in the morning. Jahra Governorate’s Al-Oyoun Health Center operates Sunday and Wednesday mornings. In Hawalli Governorate, the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital clinic is open Monday and Wednesday mornings. Al-Fahaheel Health Center in Ahmadi Governorate is available Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, while Al-Zahraa Health Center in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate operates during the same morning periods.

Appointments can be booked through the Ministry’s online portal at https://vaccsh.moh.gov.kw/ChildVaccine/v1/appointments/RegisterAr. Travelers are also encouraged to use the interactive map available on the Ministry’s website, developed by the Public Health Sector, to provide accurate and accessible preventive information.

The map offers details on health requirements by country, recommended vaccines, clinic locations, working hours, and booking links, accessible at https://www.moh.gov.kw/ar/travelhealth.

Dr. Al-Sanad advised travelers with chronic diseases to consult their specialist doctors well before travel to ensure stable health conditions, receive proper advice, and obtain necessary medications. He emphasized that this advance planning is crucial for a safe trip and can prevent health emergencies.

He concluded by affirming the Ministry’s commitment to continuously improving preventive services within a comprehensive health vision that prioritizes individuals and aims to create a healthy travel environment. This approach reflects Kuwait’s developing health system and the community’s confidence in the efficiency of its medical institutions.
