Kuwait’s champion Al-Ajmi wins gold in 6th Shooting GPrix – Kuwaiti nat’l team win gold in women’s trap; Al-Anezi tops 10m air-rifle

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Kuwaiti sharpshooting champion Saad Manee Al-Ajmi won the gold medal in the 50m pistol shooting competition, recording 197.2 points. Two Omanis — Jamal Al-Haitali and Sulaiman Al-Rahbi — won the silver and bronze medals after scoring 177.6 and 156.3 points respectively in the ongoing His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sixth Shooting Grand Prix which kicked off last Saturday at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad International Shooting Complex.

According to a press release, Kuwaiti national team managed to score 125 points, winning the gold medal, in the women’s trap (75 targets) competition, followed by Qatari national women’s team in the second place with a score of 115 points which qualified them to win silver medal. The bronze medal went to Morocco’s national women’s team after scoring 114 points.

In the 10m air-rifle competition for men, shooter Fayez Al-Enezi scored 203.1 points to win the gold medal, followed by his compatriot Abdullah Awadh Al-Harbi who won the silver medal by scoring 201.1 points and Saudi Arabia’s Hussein Al-Harbi in third place with a score of 180.7 points. Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sixth Shooting Grand Prix continues today with scheduled competitions, which include 10m air rifle shooting competition for women and trap (50 targets) competition for men. There will also be official training session for the men’s 10m pistol competition as well as men and women’s skeet competitions.
