Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee Khashman Al-Dhafiri.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: Camel enthusiasts in Kuwait are gearing up for the third Camel Race, which will take place next Saturday, with widespread participation from camel owners across the country.

Khashman Al-Dhafiri, the Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee for this special event, has revealed that preparations are well underway for the third edition of the Camel Race. The race will kick off in two stages on Saturday morning, covering a distance of 23 kilometers for the first race and 15 kilometers for the second and final race.

Al-Dhafiri further noted, "The organizing committee, under the leadership of Fahd Al-Ubawi, has allocated attractive financial prizes for the top three winners at the conclusion of these races, which showcase our rich historical heritage."

He went on to explain that a total of 19 camels will be participating in this event, all of which will compete in the first race. The top eight finishers from the initial race will then qualify for the final, with the first three winners determined based on the results of the 15-kilometer race and the fastest completion time.

The Vice Chairman of the Festival Committee added that the race will commence near the point of Kilo 84 in the Salmi area and conclude at Kilo 61, following the route determined by the arbitration committee.
