KUWAIT CITY, May 28: The Al-Nasr women’s weightlifting team is proudly representing Kuwait at the inaugural Asian Masters Championship, currently taking place in Doha, Qatar, and set to conclude this coming Saturday. This marks a historic milestone as Al-Annabi becomes the first Kuwaiti women’s team to compete in an Asian-level weightlifting championship.
The Kuwaiti delegation is led by Sultan Al-Mutairi and includes delegation manager Asbih Al-Adwani, coaches Mashael Al-Dakhil and Aya Al-Haddad, and 11 talented athletes:
Amal Al-Sharifi, Abrar Al-Fahd, Nour Al-Abdullah, Haya Al-Mayas, Al-Zahraa Kamshad, Shahad Al-Otaibi, Maryam Abu Jabara, Arwa Al-Atiqi, Sarah Al-Hawal, Hawra Al-Mousawi, and Hadeel Al-Shammari.
Sultan Al-Mutairi expressed his appreciation for Al-Nasr Club’s leadership and their unwavering support for women’s sports, particularly the weightlifting program. He emphasized that the team is not just participating, but aiming to secure medals, backed by a strong lineup of experienced athletes.
Al-Mutairi also extended his best wishes to the players, expressing confidence in their ability to make Kuwait proud on the continental stage and elevate the reputation of Al-Nasr Club in this prestigious Asian competition featuring top champions from across the continent.
