KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) concluded the 17th edition of its Summer Cultural Festival on Friday evening with a "Desert Night" concert at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC).
Secretary-General of NCCAL, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jassar, said the festival, which ran from July 9 to August 29, featured a wide range of cultural and artistic events, including theater performances, art and literature workshops, and music concerts.
“The festival's activities were diverse, offering something for everyone. We enjoyed theatrical performances, distinctive musical concerts, and specialized workshops for adults and children that combined education, culture, and entertainment,” Al-Jassar said, expressing enthusiasm for the festival’s success.
He thanked the audience for their participation and support, noting, “You, the audience, are the beating heart of every cultural event. Thanks to your passion, our journey continues.”
Al-Jassar also extended gratitude to the artists, lecturers, participants, work teams, and all who contributed to the festival’s success.
The closing ceremony featured performances by Faisal Al-Saad, Fawaz Al-Marzouq, Khaled Al-Masoud, and the artist Ghanima. A distinguished musical band led by Maestro Rashid Al-Nuwaisher performed, including the Ibrahim Talis String Band from Turkey and the AlKambo Band from Egypt, presenting a selection of Kuwait’s most beloved songs.
