Kuwaiti contestants at the Rashed Al-Mualla Rally performed with class and won top positions in various races of the competition, which concluded Saturday, May 13 in the Emirate of Umm Al-Quwain in the United Arab Emirates.In a telephone conversation with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), a member of the Board of Directors of Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Club and head of the Kuwaiti delegation Ahmed Mohammed Al-Qallaf revealed that the Kuwaiti racer Manaf Abedan and his assistant Abdulaziz Al-Tahnoun came first in the first race category “UTV Turbo”. In second place were Kuwait’s Abdulaziz Bashir and assistant Mohammed Yousef while Kuwait’s Abdulaziz Al-Shatti and his assistant Mohammed Al-Tahnoun came third.He said Qatar’s Mohammed Al Manai came first in the “T1” race category followed by Kuwaiti’s Hussein Mahdi and his assistant Ahmed Al-Fares in second place, and Egypt’s Tamer Abu’ Oula in third.Al-Qallaf praised the level of performance of Kuwaiti contestants who “managed to reflect the expected and befitting image of motor sports in the country”.He indicated that the race was very difficult and about 20 racers had participated in it, but the Kuwaiti contestants managed to display high-level performance when competing with some of the top champions of the sport in the region.Al-Qallaf expressed gratitude and appreciation to the sponsor of the tournament Sheikh Rashid Al-Mualla, commending him for his efforts in ensuring the success of the competition.He also thanked Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting State Minister for Youth Affairs Khalid Al-Roudhan as well as officials from the Public Authority for Sports and Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Club for their great support which greatly contributed to the successful participation and achievement.
