Kuwaiti’s exempted from flight amendment charges for domestic workers

Return of domestic workers plan which is expected to go into effect from Monday included new measures that exempted Kuwaiti citizens from amending or postponing of air tickets for their maids or drivers.


The meeting was held on Thursday between Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways and the DGCA along with other representatives on policies and conditions with the airlines on mechanism of reservation, modification and cancellation terms. 


The sources stated that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation decided to reduce the conditions related to canceling, modifying, or postponing reservations for domestic workers’ tickets to ease the burden of Kuwaiti citizens and facilitating them which was accepted by national airlines within the framework of joint cooperation.

Each national airline company has its own policies, in this aspect the policies have been unified  regarding dealing with domestic workers’ travel tickets while easing the requirements, the meeting resulted in the lifting of all restrictions on tickets in amendment, postponement, and exempting citizens from any additional fees required.

The exemption from fees on amendments is only related to tickets of domestic workers who hold Article 20 valid residence coming from destinations specified in the plan for return of domestic workers and does not apply to tickets outside that plan.
