Diagnosed for cancer by Kuwait Ministry of Health

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: In one of the most heinous medical errors, the civil court in its ruling obliged the Ministry of Health to pay 30,000 dinars to a Kuwaiti woman as compensation on the background of several surgeries, giving her chemical doses, which worsened her condition and who subsequently had to be sent abroad for treatment and doctors abroad found she was not suffering from the disease for which she was being treated in Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.

The court, based on the lawsuit documents, was surprised by the truth after she was treated abroad as the reports proved that she was not suffering from cancer and did not need all those surgeries or all chemical doses.

Lawyer for the plaintiff Howrah Al-Habib pleaded in front of the court that the medical teams did not adhere to the surgical principles and that this big mistake harmed the health of her client, psychologically and morally. Attorney Al-Habib submitted the three-member committee report as well as reports from hospitals in London to prove the Ministry of Health doctors committed the grave mistake
