KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The Court of First Instance obligated a Kuwaiti woman to pay one of her deceased sister’s sons KD 128,000, which is the value of his share of the sale of a house owned by her sister after she tried to hide the value of the sale of the property, which had amounted to KD 540,000. According to details of the case filed by a Kuwaiti citizen through his counsel Lawyer Jassem Al- Tuwaitan, his deceased mother had previously given power of attorney to her sister to manage all of her properties because she was suffering from a health condition that prevented her from doing so.

After her death, he discovered that his mother had left him and the rest of the heirs only small sums of money, even though she had more money than that and also owned real estate. He then discovered that his aunt had acted according to the power of attorney granted to her by his mother, and sold the property for KD 540,000. She had deposited the amount in her sister’s account, but later withdrew the amount without disclosing what she did with it.

Lawyer Al-Tuwaitan objected to the experts’ management report, demanding a detailed statement of the real estate, bank accounts, and assets owned by his client’s mother, as well as a statement with details about the amount of KD 540,000, which was the value of the sale of the property.
