KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13, (KUNA): Kuwait Shooting Sport Club (KSSC) President Duaij Al-Otaibi said on Tuesday Kuwaiti team’s performance at His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s International Shooting Grand Prix has been remarkable.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Otaibi, who also heads the championship’s organizing committee, stated that the Kuwaiti shooters are performing real well after securing a number of medals in various competitions, including two gold medals and one bronze in the trap event, pointing out that more medals could be added on Thursday’s skeet shooting event.

He added that the competition is a good preparation to the Kuwaiti shooters for the world cup, to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in April and the World Championship in South Korean in May. Both events are qualifications to the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. Al-Otaibi thanked the Asian and African confederations for their support to Grand Prix  in addition to the European participation, which gave the competitions more flavor.

Some 420 shooters from 42 countries are competing in the International Shooting Grand Prix, which kicked off at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex on Saturday.
