KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: A drug experiment conducted by young individuals from Kuwait during their travels in Thailand has resulted in their imprisonment in Kuwait after being caught with drugs at the Kuwait International Airport.

In Thailand, certain drugs are sold legally and publicly, which led these individuals, who were unaware of the legal nuances, to face legal consequences upon their return to Kuwait.

The defendants, sharing their experiences, mentioned that their involvement with drugs began as an experiment during their trip to Thailand. However, they found themselves unable to stop or break free from it, ultimately bringing the drugs back to Kuwait. One of the accused, a 24-year-old girl, unknowingly carried drugs hidden inside her makeup kit and was apprehended at the airport.

The second accused admitted to being influenced by certain aspects of Thai nightlife and started with a hashish cigarette, gradually escalating to narcotic pills. Unable to quit, he carried drugs concealed in his pants upon returning from Thailand. The third accused, not realizing the substances were drugs, purchased them officially, believing they were sweets due to their legal status in Thailand, and brought them back to Kuwait in their bag.

Following their confessions, the Criminal Court in Kuwait decided to detain them.
