Kuwaiti Man Nabbed For Posing As Fake Cop In Serial Thefts

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: In a new security achievement that confirms the effectiveness of field surveillance, the Salmiya Investigations Office at Hawally Governorate Investigations Department arrested a person impersonating a police officer and involved in the robbery of military vehicles and tailor shops. The Ministry of Interior revealed that detectives spotted the suspect while he was driving a vehicle bearing stolen license plates.

He was arrested and identified as Mustafa Farih Munawar, a Kuwaiti with a criminal record, with a stolen vehicle, psychotropic substances, and a military uniform in his possession. According to the ministry, the detectives searched the residence of the suspect after obtaining a search warrant from the Public Prosecution. This resulted in the confiscation of military uniforms, insignias, military ID covers, a toy pistol, handcuffs, a security force belt, a detective flasher, live ammunition for an M16 rifle, and a large number of other stolen items. During interrogation, the citizen confessed to robbing three military tailor shops in Raqqa, where he stole military uniforms. He is also involved in a series of vehicle and license plate thefts in Salmiya, Andalus, and Dahar, and wanted by law for involvement in several similar criminal cases.
