Kuwaiti man flees police

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti for helping a compatriot escape from police, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said this happened when patrolmen in manning a checkpoint in Al-Zour suspected a motorist and impounded his car because he was wanted by law in connection with KD 27,000 ‘fraud’, reports Al-Anba daily.

The suspect reportedly took to his heels and the Kuwaiti riding an ATV picked him up and sped off. Police arrested the man riding the ATV who at the time of arrest was high on alcohol.

Police have also seized from him a bottle of whisky and handed him over to the police. It is not known if the compatriot managed to escape or if he too has been arrested.
