KUWAIT CITY, May 18: The Criminal Court sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to death for detaining, raping and killing his girlfriend in Rumaithiya. Case files indicate that the accused put the victim’s body in a bag and took it outside his home. The Public Prosecution, represented by its lawyer, Attorney Fares Hussein Al-Dabbous, urged the court to declare the citizen guilty and impose the maximum penalty on him.

During his court pleadings, Al-Dabbous indicated that the accused violated the privacy of the victim. He pointed out “the crime stated in the case files brought tears to the eyes, clouded the sky with mourning, expressed human baseness, brought criminal vileness to us, embodied the burdens of humanity, and took us to a real tragedy. The accused is a wolf that preyed on the innocence of the victim with his claws, and robbed her of the right to life that all heavenly religions have enshrined and forbidden tampering with.”
