AMMAN, July 10: The Kuwaiti short film Wa Naam (translated as And Yes), directed by Musaed Al-Qudaifi, made a remarkable impression at the 6th Amman International Film Festival (AFF), currently taking place in the Jordanian capital under the slogan "A World Outside the Text."

Screened on the sixth day of the festival, Wa Naam was featured alongside a selection of other Arab short films. The screening drew a significant turnout from the Jordanian public and international visitors, who warmly engaged with the Kuwaiti cinematic presentation.

The film narrates the story of a freshly graduated Kuwaiti engineer who faces challenges in securing suitable employment. In a bid to turn his life around, he decides to take on a daring challenge in hopes of winning a grand prize that could fulfill his aspirations.

Wa Naam stars a talented ensemble of Kuwaiti actors, including Jassim Burhama, Asaad Bunashi, Osama Behbehani, Musaed Al-Mutairi, Mohammad Al-Munais, and Jarrah Shammouh.

The Amman Film Festival, which began on July 3, is being held under the theme “A World Outside the Text,” aiming to reflect the current realities and shifting narratives in the Arab region and beyond. The festival continues to serve as a platform for emerging voices in Arab cinema and creative storytelling.
