Kuwaiti dies in chase by cops

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: A Kuwaiti died in a road traffic accident in Wafra when his car overturned killing him on the spot, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources the victim was reportedly driving recklessly in the Umm Qadeer area and after receiving a report the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior dispatched a police patrol to the area. Witnesses said as soon as the motorist saw the police patrol approaching, he stepped on the gas pedal in a vain attempt to escape, lost control of his vehicle and died when the car overturned. The investigator and the personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department moved to the site and referred the corpse to Forensics. The patrol commander was arrested and referred for interrogation to find out the circumstances that led to the death of the victim.
