KUWAIT CITY, July 20: The official delegation of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee will depart for France this afternoon to participate in the 33rd Olympic Games, "Paris 2024," which will be held from July 26 to August 11. The nine athletes representing Kuwait will travel to Paris in phases according to their competition schedules.
Kuwait will be represented at "Paris 2024" by nine athletes: Khaled Al-Mudhaf and Muhammad Al-Daihani (archery), Yousef Al-Shamlan (fencing), Amina Shah (sailing), Suad Al-Faqaan (rowing), Yaqoub Al-Yawha and Amal Al-Rumi (athletics), and Lara Dashti and Muhammad Sabet (swimming).
Fatima Hayat, a member of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee and head of women's sports, highlighted that Kuwaiti athletes will compete in rowing, swimming, fencing, and shooting. She extended her best wishes for their success.
Hayat expressed pride in Kuwait's participation in the world's largest sporting event, noting the historic achievement of gender equality in the competition. She emphasized that 48 percent of the Kuwaiti delegation are women, with four out of nine athletes being female, marking a significant accomplishment for Kuwaiti sports.
