HONG KONG, July 5: Kuwait’s national bowling teams delivered a stellar performance at the 48th Hong Kong Open Bowling Championship, held from June 26 to July 5, securing three gold medals and clinching first place overall in one of the most prestigious international bowling tournaments after the World Championship.

The tournament featured elite participation from some of the strongest bowling nations in the world, but Kuwait’s athletes rose to the occasion with determination and excellence.

In the junior category, Adel Abel claimed the gold medal after a highly competitive showing. In the youth division, Nasser Al-Kandari secured gold before going on to dominate the general category, earning a second individual gold medal and further solidifying Kuwait’s lead atop the medal table.

President of the Kuwait and International Bowling Federations, Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, expressed great pride in the national team's success, attributing the achievement to the athletes' hard work and the strategic planning of the federation.

“This accomplishment reflects the spirit and determination of our players,” Sheikh Talal said. “It comes in line with the support and directives of Kuwait’s wise political leadership, and the federation remains committed to advancing the sport through a comprehensive and well-defined plan.”

He also extended congratulations to the players, coaches, administrative staff, and the parents of the athletes, recognizing their vital role in providing moral and logistical support.
