KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Kuwaiti youth artistic gymnastics team has embarked on a 10-day training camp in Baku, Azerbaijan, starting today. This camp is part of the team's long-term preparation plan for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, set to take place in Dakar, Senegal.
The team delegation departed Kuwait yesterday afternoon en route to Baku. The delegation includes team administrator Khaled Al-Madhen, Ukrainian coach Vitaly Arsenyev, and players Abdullah Behbehani, Musa Al-Sahaf, and Saud Al-Rudaini.
The training camp, organized in collaboration with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Gymnastics Federation, aims to equip the players with the skills and experience needed to excel in the Olympics.
Fahad Al-Soula, Chairman of the Gymnastics Federation, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser, Chairman of the Olympic Committee, Bashar Abdullah, Acting Director of the Public Authority for Sports, and Fatima Hayat, Chairwoman of the Women’s Sports Committee. He acknowledged their continuous support for gymnastics, a sport that has gained significant recognition in international championships. Al-Soula emphasized the Federation's commitment to advancing both the technical and rhythmic aspects of gymnastics to establish it as one of Kuwait’s leading sports.
