Kuwait women ice hockey team win Silver in Gulf Championship

Kuwait’s women’s ice hockey team celebrate after winning the silver medal at the Gulf Women Ice Hockey Championship in Abu Dhabi.

Kuwait women ice hockey team won the silver medal in the Gulf women Ice Hockey Championship after beating Ghazals Dubai 3-2 on Saturday. Kuwait’s Maryam Al-Deyouli was named the championship Most Valuable Player (MVP). Kuwait ladies were trailing by one goal and managed to regain their concentration into the game, held at Zayed Sport City.

The Kuwaitis scored three goals before Ghazals Dubai scored their second goal. Fhaid Al-Ajmi, president of Kuwait Winter Games Club, told KUNA the players were determined to win medal and succeeded in doing so, although their pre-championship preparations were for six months only. “We are looking for more achievements,” he said. Abu Dhabi Stormers won the championship. (KUNA)
