Kuwait wins nine medals, tops Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship

DOHA, June 1, (KUNA): Kuwait’s women weightlifters clinched first place overall after the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship held in Doha, capping their participation with nine medals across various categories.

Sultan Al-Mutairi, board member of Al-Nasr Club, hailed the athletes’ dedication and tireless preparation, which led to this remarkable achievement. Speaking to KUNA, he emphasised that the medals were a result of “continuous hard work and consistent training.”

Al-Mutairi dedicated the victory to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

He also extended his appreciation to the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sport Bashar Abdullah, Director of Sports Authorities Jarrah Al-Saeedi, and President of the Kuwait Weightlifting Federation, Talal Al-Jassar, for their support.

Speaking to KUNA, gold medalist Abrar Al-Fahad credited the club and the Kuwait Federation for their backing, stressing that the athletes' success was built on “relentless training and continuous support.”
