Kuwait’s national junior athletics team won on Sunday a gold medal, a silver one, and a bronze on the third day of the West Asian Junior Athletics Championship, hosted by the Lebanese capital. Kuwait’s medals have so far accumulated to two gold, four silver, and one bronze, team’s manager Falah Al-Ajmi told KUNA, noting Abdullah Mohammad won the gold medal in the discus throw competition, making (68.49m).
Hashem Al-Ali attained the silver in the high jump contest with (99.1m), while his compatriot Saleh Al-Sadr clinched the bronze medal in the discus throw, making (26.44m), added Al-Ajmi.
He praised his team’s high spirit and determination to attain best results and records, dedicating this achievement to all athletes in Kuwait, and wished that such an aspiring athletics team received further support by heads of sports in Kuwait. Kuwait is participating in the championship, due to end on Aug 18, with 13 athletes. (KUNA)
