The victorious Kuwait athletics team display the championship trophy
State of Kuwait won the GCC’s 16th athletics championship Saturday, bagging seven gold medals, four silver and two bronze. Kuwait national athletics team won the trophy of the championship after they led the general standing, Bader Al-Rshoud, the team’s head, told KUNA. Kuwait’s Majed Al-Zaid, in the last day of competitions, won the decathlon while Ali Al-Zankawi won the silver in the hammer throw, he said. Al-Rshoud congratulated all Kuwaiti athletes for their deserved victory of the championship, held at King Abdullah Sports City in the Saudi Red Sea city of Jeddah. Some 135 athletes of GCC states are taking part in the championship, which kicked off Thursday. (KUNA)
