TUNIS, July 10: Kuwait U-23 volleyball team opened its training camp in Tunisia with a commanding 3-0 victory over Tunisia in its first friendly match, as part of preparations for the upcoming West Asia Championship, set to take place in Bahrain from July 17 to 27.
The team will continue its 10-day training camp in Tunisia before traveling to the Bahraini capital, Manama, for the regional tournament.
Led by Argentine head coach Julián Álvarez and assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, Kuwait delivered a dominant performance, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-18.
According to the official tournament draw, Kuwait is placed in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. Group A includes host nation Bahrain, Jordan, the UAE, and Lebanon.
