Kuwait Urges Nationals in Portugal to Remain Vigilant as Temperatures Soar

MADRID, Aug 1: The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Portugal has issued a warning to Kuwaiti nationals residing in the country, urging them to exercise caution amid an ongoing heatwave and its potential consequences, including the risk of wildfires. In an official statement, the embassy advised citizens to closely follow the instructions issued by Portuguese authorities. It also encouraged them to contact the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission for assistance or inquiries at the 24-hour hotline: +351 916 666 645.

Authorities in Portugal have issued warnings about the heightened risk of wildfires in the northern and central regions as the heatwave is expected to persist until next Wednesday, with temperatures reaching up to 44°C in some areas. In recent days, several large wildfires have broken out across various parts of the country, forcing the evacuation of residents from multiple villages and towns and leading to the closure of mountain roads.
