KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Marzouq Al-Otaibi, has issued Administrative Decision No. (1488) of 2024, which introduces amendments to the regulations, rules, and procedures for granting work permits. This decision revises the provisions outlined in Administrative Decision No. (2022/156).

The amendment specifically adds new criteria to the final paragraph of Article No. (4) of the existing regulations. The revised text now includes: “..or foreign banks and financial institutions operating in Kuwait.”

Updated Article No. (4): A non-Kuwaiti can be the authorized signatory for activities involving foreign investors under Law No. 116 of 2013, which deals with direct investment registration in Kuwait. This also applies to international organizations set up by international agreements, foreign news agencies based outside Kuwait, places of worship, and foreign banks or financial institutions operating in Kuwait.

This update broadens the scope for non-Kuwaiti authorized signatories, including those representing foreign financial institutions in the country.
