Kuwait to launch new volunteer center to promote giving and solidarity
Ministry of Public Works to build a 6,000 sq. meters volunteer center in the capital.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: In a significant step toward promoting the values of giving and solidarity, the Ministry of Public Works is set to launch a new volunteer work center in the Sharq area, behind the Dasman Complex. The project, expected to be unveiled in December 2025, will serve as a cornerstone of the ministry’s future development plans.

According to sources, the volunteer work center will be built on a 6,000-square-meter plot and will feature a modern five-story administrative building designed to function as an integrated hub for volunteer activities. The center will include specialized studios and theaters, alongside training halls, rehabilitation rooms, and practical workshops tailored to develop volunteer skills and refine community-based initiatives.

The project, which is set to take 30 months for construction, completion, and maintenance, will be carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works. The project aims to adhere to the highest engineering and technical standards, ensuring a state-of-the-art facility for volunteer work.

Volunteerism has long been a cornerstone of Kuwaiti society, with citizens actively engaging in charitable and community-driven efforts. This initiative aims to build on this tradition by institutionalizing volunteerism and creating a centralized platform for organizing and coordinating various humanitarian efforts.

Sources emphasized that the volunteer work center is not merely a building but a clear reflection of Kuwait’s commitment to investing in its people. The center will provide a space to enhance skill development, coordinate volunteer initiatives, and foster greater community involvement. The project is seen as an important step in preparing the next generation of Kuwaitis to provide support and assistance in areas that serve the community and reduce the state's burdens.

This initiative underscores the country’s long-standing culture of compassion, solidarity, and collective responsibility, and seeks to integrate these values into future generations of Kuwaitis, ensuring they are equipped to contribute meaningfully to the nation's social fabric.
